Author Information

My name is Andy Farnell, the author of much of the material on this site. I'm a computer scientist from the UK with many years experience of digital sound. I've worked as a programmer, producer and developer of audio software and content. Much of my regular work is often network related, serverside UNIX/GNU-Linux system programming. My interest is in synthesis and analysis of signals, and applications to sound environments. Now I am after games, animation or film companies that want to implement procedural audio and I'm taking some time to write a book about synthetic sound while teaching workshops. I'm a proud open source advocate. I try to promote open standards, and I believe in good communication, documentation and universal access to enabling tools and knowledge. CV (.pdf file)
