Hillageizer

An arpeggio machine

The perfect thing for tuning your aura to the fundamental Om pitch of the Universe. This synth gizmo is a synchronously polyrythmic 3 voice polyphonic up-arpeggiator. Each of three threads can be divided in time and pitch to set the top, bottom and division of midi note numbers in each rising sequence. A simple synthesier with 3 sawtooth waves and a filter makes the signal, plus a flanger and a reverb unit to colour the sound.

Interface

The panel is split into three areas, an event generator, three scaling units and some output controls for the synthesiser. The control labled T is a time/tempo control that sets the main rate. The three time vector controls V1 - v3 set the relative speed of each sequence. This is done by timebase arithmetic using divide and round to segment the time scale. The controls M1 - M3 are for pitch modulation. A higher setting will make the scale width larger.

Working out how this relates to the scales takes a bit of practice. The N,D and C sliders affect numerator, denominator and constant (offset) creating a scale taken from that ratio. N should generally be larger than D.

Each voice has its own level control L1 - L3 which comes before the effects with controls for lfo speed, a depth amount amt and the delay del of the flanger. The reverb mix is set with verb

DSP

Three independently pitch controlled phasors are panned to two [vcf~] filters with fixed resonance (4), to create a pair of independently shaped left and right channels. A slow flanger using a vari-rate delay [vd~] unit and a 4 delay, 4 tap cross reverb with fixed settings provides some ambience.

Presets

There are a few preset patches, some textures I made that might serve as a starting point for creating new patterns.
